Leigh: St Edburga

St Edburga, Leigh

St Edburga, Leigh

The church of St Edburga’s is the centre for worship for Leigh, Bransford and Leigh Sinton. It is named after a grand-daughter of King Alfred the Great, who preferred a life of sanctity to Saxon royalty. The village (like Bransford) is named in the Domesday Book.

Today, it offers a mixture of traditional and contemporary worship, with a service once a week.  A robed choir sings at all services apart from the All Age/Family Communion and there is a strong emphasis on musical soirees.
